Loop-Catcher Playground β€” watch a Brownian trace get loop-erased into an SLE curve
arXiv:2607.18070 ("The Brownian loop-catcher") shows that a random closed set called a "loop-catcher" interpolates between a loop-erased random walk (LERW) and the full Brownian trace: add back an independent Brownian loop soup and you recover the original trace exactly, but only when the loop soup's central charge stays in [-2, 0]. This demo runs a real discretized 2D Brownian walk, live loop-erases it with the classic stack algorithm, and gives you a central-charge slider that re-admits sampled loops back onto the bare LERW skeleton β€” with an explicit warning once you push charge past the paper's -2 cutoff, where recovery is proven to fail. A second panel actually solves the Loewner ODE (RK4, complex driving function sqrt(kappa)Β·Brownian motion) so a kappa slider in [2, 8/3] redraws the loop-catcher's outer boundary as a genuine SLE-type curve, not a canned animation. Won a 2-way build-off (the third builder's build never finished) β€” the judge picked it over a fermionic-nullity bracket-matching toy because it implements two independent, nontrivial numerical methods that map directly onto the paper's two headline claims, rather than approximating the physics with a themed but shallower mechanic.
