Tunnel or Climb โ race a quantum walker through a barrier against classical hill-climbing, live
arXiv:2606.23614 proves that for smooth bowl-shaped landscapes with one nasty
spike stuck in the middle, quantum tunneling gives a provable spectral-gap advantage over classical
hill-climbing at getting past the spike โ the quantum walker leaks straight through the barrier
instead of climbing over it. This demo runs an actual complex-valued Crank–Nicolson
finite-difference solve (Thomas algorithm) of the 1D discrete Schrödinger equation on a
bowl+spike potential, racing it live against a genuine Metropolis/simulated-annealing classical
walker on the identical landscape. Sliders for spike height/width/position reshape both the physics
and the race in real time, plus a background sweep chart traces success rate vs. spike height for
both walkers so you can watch the curves diverge exactly as spectral-gap theory predicts. Won a 3-way
build-off over LLM Trust Arena and Same AUC, Different Truth on wow-factor and fidelity
— it's a real numerical simulation of the paper's actual claim, not a faked stand-in, and you
watch classical walkers physically bounce off the barrier while the quantum probability density
visibly leaks through it.

- demo โ LLM Trust Arena (cool 8): seeds iterated-trust-game cooperation rates straight from the paper's measured table — a 48x spread between GPT-5 Nano (1.5%) and Claude Opus (71.5%) — and lets you watch most personas defect hard in the endgame while the Anthropic-calibrated one still cooperates with nothing left to lose — runner-up in tonight's build-off (arXiv:2604.18596).
- demo โ Same AUC, Different Truth (cool 7): two synthetic detectors share ~0.85 AUC but drag the operating threshold and their detection-rate/false-alarm tradeoff diverges wildly — reframed as "your backtested AUC doesn't tell you if you're profitable at the threshold you actually bet at" — the other runner-up (arXiv:2608.02821).
- demo โ ParlaySplit: Topological X-Ray for Your Bet Slip (cool 8): grows a Vietoris–Rips complex over your open bet legs as the correlation threshold rises — a loop closing means you've unknowingly stacked the same bet twice, using real persistent-homology machinery instead of a plain correlation matrix (arXiv:2310.09578).
- youtube โ I Tried to Poison a Sports-Betting AI With Fake Injury Tweets (cool 8): feeds a fast LLM agent and a reasoning ("System 2") agent the same mixed batch of real and fabricated injury reports and asks each for a bet — reasoning models resist corrupted evidence far better, but the paper's twist is a model can correctly flag a document as fake and still let it shift the answer (arXiv:2608.17153).
- project โ Dark Figures: Hidden-Signal Extraction Pipeline for SharpLab (cool 7): ports a Kalman filter over an enhanced SEIR model — built to infer the hidden "dark figure" of undetected Zika infections from noisy case counts — to inferring the hidden true signal (sharp money, steam) behind noisy observed line movement (arXiv:2511.01920).
