Market Maker Stress Test โ watch a liquidity provider flip from "buying the dip" to "running away"
arXiv:2602.01817 uses audit-trail data on designated market makers (DMMs) to test
a simple question: do they keep providing liquidity during a crash, or do they bail? The answer depends
entirely on whether the crash is isolated or correlated. This demo puts 8 NBA-style game cards on screen
and gives you one slider: how many crash at once. Drag it to 1 and the DMM avatar animates toward the
hit card, spreads tighten, its inventory gauge climbs green — it's absorbing the shock. Drag it past
1 and the same bot visibly flees to a corner, spreads on every hit card blow out, inventory dumps
negative, particles scatter — it's dumping risk on slower traders instead. One control variable,
the paper's entire finding. Won a 3-way build-off over Gut vs Grind and Pay-to-Peek on
audiovisual craft and the directness of its mapping to the paper's headline result.

- demo โ Gut vs Grind (cool 8): a formal dual-process model splits decision-making into two genuinely separate causal feedback loops — fast pattern-matching and slow deliberate correction, not one dial. This trainer forces a 5-second timed gut pick on a betting scenario, then an untimed grind pick with full EV shown, and tracks separate simulated bankrolls for each across a session so you get an actual answer to "was my gut right, or just lucky?" Runner-up in tonight's build-off (arXiv:2602.11478).
- demo โ Pay-to-Peek (cool 8): scheduling theory proves the optimal way to trade off "commit now on an upper-bound estimate" vs. "pay a cost to learn the true, shorter time first" — the exact shape of "pay to see one more card." This game hands you a queue of jobs with only upper-bound times, lets you pay to peek at the real one, and races your calls against a formally-optimal 2.1523-competitive ghost algorithm. The other runner-up (arXiv:2606.25166).
- demo โ AI Prisoner's Dilemma Arena (cool 8): across 25 LLMs and 38 canonical games, models converge tightly on competitive behavior but diverge 48-fold on cooperation — and some frontier models keep cooperating in the final round of a finite game, exactly where backward induction says they shouldn't (arXiv:2604.18596).
- demo โ Bet-Size Tuner: Blind Man's Golden Search (cool 8): a provably sharp-rate algorithm for tuning a single noisy-feedback knob — like a Kelly bet-sizing fraction — races grid search and golden-section search to the optimum, live convergence plots included (arXiv:2607.12938).
- project โ Sharp-Money Line-Move Backtester (cool 8): ports the HFT paper's imbalance-predicts-price result to sportsbook odds — testing whether cross-book bet-volume imbalance beats naive CLV-chasing as a signal for closing-line movement (arXiv:2307.15599).
- youtube โ Why Betting Syndicates Split Into Small Cells (cool 7): the math of optimal spatial structure for collective information-gathering groups maps directly onto why sharp betting syndicates stay small and decentralized instead of pooling into one giant operation (arXiv:2510.23297).
