The William Jung Exploit
William Jung had a 33% neg rate in week 1 — 3 negs in 9 buzzes. Two of those chem negs came at buzz positions 0.19 and 0.43 (extremely early in the tossup). He pattern-matches fast and fires before he's sure.
Strategy: On chem and math tossups, don't race him. Let him buzz first. He'll neg ~1-in-3, giving you a free dead tossup. Jianyu should deliberately hold 1–2 beats longer on chem, then clean up after the neg.
Abhinav A also negs early (25% neg rate on ESS/bio). Same principle — let him fire first on bio and ESS.
Harry G — No Exploit Available
Harry G is the #2 overall combine in the entire league (score: 36). In week 2 he went 6 correct, 0 negs across 8 buzzes, at an average buzz position of 0.936 — he already waits until he's certain. There's no patience game to play against him.
He dominates: physics (4/4 in week 2), math, ESS, CS. Accept that he will score a lot of points and protect your neg count. Do not chase him into his subjects.
Home Advantage — Watch for Bio Removal
Gid is the home team and can remove one tossup-bonus pair. Your biggest lopsided edge is bio (Nihar 10 vs their best of 7). There's a real chance they remove the bio pair to neutralize Nihar.
If bio gets removed: Nihar shifts to bonus anchor. Her bio knowledge still helps with bio bonus parts — and she can contribute to ESS bonus answers (combine ESS: 2).
Role Assignments
Nihar — Bio anchor, be aggressive, buzz early on bio clues. You are the best bio player in this matchup by a clear margin. If bio gets removed (home advantage), stay in for bonus answers.
Jianyu — Chem primary. The move is patience — William Jung will neg chem at least once per game. Let him go first, then answer. Also your best buzzer for chem bonuses.
