Uncs vs sumin — Matchup Scouting Report
Uncs vs sumin — Matchup Scouting Report
Lineup
Your team (playing): Rohan G (back!), Pravira D, Daniel Y (caravan), Nihar Bhave (nisha)
Out: Jianyu W (cloudicloud) — our chem answerer
Their core four: Lucas W, Angelina Y, Likhith M, Advai S (Dwai), rotating in Kevin F
The One Problem: No Chem
Jianyu was our chem answerer. Without him our chem combine scores are: Rohan −1, Pravira 0, Daniel −1, Nihar −1. We cannot win a chem tossup this game. Treat chem like we treated math vs Gid — hands off, don't neg. Lucas (chem 3) is their only chem threat and even he's weak, so a lot of chem tossups may go dead. Let them.
Subject-by-Subject
| Subject | Our best (combine) | Their best (combine) | Edge |
| Bio | Nihar (10) | Angelina (11), Lucas (8) | Toss-up / slight them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chem | nobody (−1) | Lucas (3) | Them (concede) |
| CS | Rohan (6), Daniel (6) | Likhith (3), Kevin (−1) | Us, big |
| ESS | Rohan (7), Daniel (6), Pravira (5) | Kevin (5) | Us, big |
| Math | Rohan (2), Nihar (2) | all ≤0 | Us |
| Physics | Pravira (7), Rohan (4) | Lucas (9), Advai (4) | Them (Lucas) |
Our winning categories: CS, ESS, math. Their winning categories: physics (Lucas), bio (Angelina), chem. A genuine category split — more winnable than the Gid game.
Two Players We Can't Beat Straight Up
- Lucas W — physics 9, buzzes late and clean (avg position 0.97, zero negs across both games, 3/3 physics in week 3). No patience exploit. Concede physics, don't neg-chase.
- Angelina Y — bio 11, went 4/4 bio vs Gid. She buzzes earlier (0.71–0.77) so slightly more beatable than Lucas, but she's better at bio than Nihar on paper. Bio tossups are a coin-flip race between Nihar and Angelina — Nihar buzz aggressively, but expect to split them.
The Exploit: Kevin F Is a Neg Machine
If Kevin F is in the lineup, he's our meal ticket — 67% neg rate (4 negs in 6 buzzes across two games), and he negged math twice in week 3. When Kevin buzzes early on math or CS, let him neg, then Rohan/Daniel clean up. Likhith also negs on math. Math is doubly good for us: we're the only side with positive math scores AND they neg themselves on it.
Roles
- Rohan — Our engine, back in the lineup. ESS + CS primary, math secondary. Combine-22 with ESS 7 / CS 6. Aggressive on all three.
- Daniel Y — CS + ESS, backs up Rohan. We have two strong CS/ESS players — that's our structural advantage. Own those categories as a pair.
- Pravira — Physics (fights Lucas, won't always win) + ESS secondary. Clean buzzer, don't waste her on negs.
- Nihar — Bio anchor. Race Angelina hard.
Watch the Home-Advantage Draw
Find out who has home advantage. If we have it, ban physics — kill Lucas's best category (his 9). If sumin has it, expect them to ban ESS or CS to blunt the Rohan/Daniel edge, so be ready to lean harder on math and bio.
Bottom Line
Better matchup than the Gid game. We have a clear two-category edge (CS + ESS) with two strong players in each, plus math where they actively hurt themselves. We'll lose physics to Lucas and probably trade bio with Angelina.
Win condition: dominate CS/ESS with the Rohan–Daniel pair, steal every Kevin/Likhith math neg, and don't waste a single neg on chem or Lucas's physics.
