The Data Room

NSBA4 as a network: 73 players, ~1,300 buzzes, six subjects. A live similarity galaxy you can grab and fling, a knowledge heatmap, the subject genome, buzz-timing ridgelines, a wall of playstyle fingerprints, and the dominance matrix. Hover — and drag — anything.

01The Playstyle Galaxy · live

force-directed similarity · 65 players · 3 communities · drag a node

Every player is a node, placed by how similar their season was to everyone else's — subject mix, accuracy, aggression, speed. It's a live physics simulation: repulsion pushes everyone apart, springs pull similar players together, and it settles into subject-constellations on its own. Grab a node and fling it — the whole cluster wobbles. Sized by points, colored by main subject.

02The Knowledge Heatmap

player × subject · gets, clustered by specialty

Each row a player, each column a subject, glowing by gets — clustered by main subject so the block structure jumps out. Solid single bars are pure specialists; the generalists up top light up across the whole row.

03The Subject Genome

chord diagram · which subjects travel together

Do people good at one subject tend to be good at another? This chords the correlations. The bright, thick ribbons reveal a real cluster — CS, Math, and Physics move together (the "quant brain," ~0.33 each) — while Biology sits almost isolated, faintly repelling everything else. Thicker ribbon = stronger bond.

04Buzz Timing

ridgeline · when each subject gets buzzed

The distribution of how much of the question was read when each subject is answered, stacked joy-division style and sorted early-to-late. The recall subjects get buzzed on sight; Math and Physics ride to the bottom — you have to solve them before you can answer, so the curve shifts right.

05The Fingerprint Wall

small-multiple radars · every player's knowledge shape

One mini-radar per player, each normalized to their own profile, sorted by points. A wall of shapes: spiky = specialist, round = generalist, all instantly comparable. Hover for who's who.

06The Dominance Matrix

team head-to-head · point margin

Row team vs column team, green if the row won and red if it lost, brighter with the blowout. Ordered by record, so reading down the top-left is the season's pecking order — and the off-diagonal surprises are the games that broke the bracket.
