The strangest part of the worst beating: Gid jumped ahead first. Playing without their No. 1 bat (Harry G a late scratch), the short-handed home side somehow grabbed an early lead. Then the roof caved in. sumin answered with a crooked-number rally that blew it open, plating runs in bunches while a pressing Gid lineup ran into out after out on the bases — five rally-killers, most of them right as sumin was pouring it on. An early upset bid turned into a 14–2 laugher, Angelina Y and Advai S doing the damage.
The six-run final hides a real game. mingle struck first and led early while xpoes stumbled out of the gate. But xpoes chipped away, took the lead by the middle innings, and after the clubs traded it back and forth, broke it open with a late rally to pull away 9–3. theenash s carried mingle's offense — but with no support and a 2-for-9 day with runners in scoring position, it was never enough.
The game of the week, decided in the final at-bat. The lead changed hands seven times in the early innings — neither bullpen could hold anything. dan finally broke through with a multi-run inning to take command, then held on as anurag mounted a late rally that brought the tying run to the plate. anurag actually put more men on all day, but stranded them (36% with RISP) and ran into three rally-killing outs. dan's clutch hitting was the difference in a 6–5 classic.
A see-saw affair, and (Stitch)² actually led in the middle innings after a rally of their own. Then the best bat in the park took over: vishnu m went 5-for-5, sparking the rally that put czz ahead to stay. (Stitch)² kept answering, but czz's clutch hitting (and vishnu's flawless day) carried them home 7–4 — the lone favorite to deliver.
The preseason favorite ran into a wall. cryo and James W traded runs early — a couple of lead changes — before cryo pulled ahead by the middle innings and answered every push the rest of the way. James W was the more efficient club (better with RISP) but got out-hit in sheer volume of baserunners, every rally met by a cryo answer. Final: 8–5, cryo never trailing after the early going.
A slugfest — 20 combined runs and barely an empty frame. ChessFun raced out to a big early lead, piling on through the middle innings behind Eric L's first-pitch aggression. Connor's bats finally woke up late and mounted a rally — Kian D driving in runs — to make it respectable, but the early hole was too deep. ChessFun took the bloodbath 12–8, the highest-scoring game of the week.
