The wildest part of the biggest blowout: Gid actually led. Down their franchise QB (Harry G inactive), the short-handed home side stunned everyone by jumping ahead two scores early. It was a mirage. From there sumin flipped a switch and reeled off the equivalent of four unanswered touchdowns in a punishing middle stretch, scoring on nearly every possession. The harder Gid pressed to keep up, the worse it got — five turnovers, most of them right in the teeth of sumin's run. By the time it was over it was a 38–13 laugher, with Angelina Y and Advai S doing the damage.
The 11-point final hides a real fight. mingle came out firing and built an early two-score lead while xpoes sputtered out of the gate (a turnover on the opening possession). But xpoes settled in, stormed back to grab the lead before the half, and the two traded the lead twice more early in the third. It stayed a one-score game deep into the second half — until xpoes finally separated with a closing run, capped by a late score to make it 31–20. theenash s kept mingle alive, but the supporting cast never showed.
The game of the week. The first half was a shootout with the lead changing hands roughly seven times — neither side could string two stops together. dan finally seized control with a run late in the second quarter to take a two-score edge into the break. anurag, who actually moved the ball better all day, mounted a furious second-half rally and got within a possession late — but the early turnovers (three on the day) and dan's clutch conversions were the margin. A 27–24 nail-biter that came down to the final drive.
A genuine see-saw, and the only game truly in doubt in the fourth quarter. The lead changed hands again and again, and (Stitch)² actually led early in the second half after a run of their own. Then the best player on the field took over: czz answered with the decisive scoring run — vishnu m carrying the offense — to pull ahead for good. (Stitch)² never went away, trading scores to the finish, but czz's clutch gene (and a late-game cushion) held them off 27–20.
Chalk meets reality. The A+ preseason favorite traded blows with cryo early — a few lead changes in the opening stretch — before cryo found another gear and pulled ahead for good around midgame. From there it was the same story on a loop: James W would answer, cryo would answer right back and keep the cushion. James W out-executed cryo in spots (faster, cleaner) but simply got out-volumed across the field. cryo closed it out 30–23, never trailing after the early going.
A track meet from the opening kickoff — 72 combined points and almost no empty possessions. After an early trade, ChessFun raced out to a commanding lead, pushing it to nearly four scores by the middle of the game behind Eric L's lightning-quick strikes. Connor, never able to get a stop, finally found rhythm late and mounted a comeback — scoring on several straight to trim it — but the hole was too deep. Kian D's big day kept it respectable; ChessFun cruised home 41–31.
